Looking after new kitten

We've been very lucky and have adopted a kitten from a local rescue centre.

She's lovely and seems to have settled in really well.

We've just had her spayed, she's not yet been let outdoors. Can someone talk me through vaccinations and de-worming etc please? AFAIK she's not had any vaccinations but had been given something for worms when at the centre (1 month ago). It's been a long time since we've had a cat in the family, what's the usual process these days? Thx.

Go with what vet says.
Do not under any circumstance use anything Bob Martin

The usual process is to post a picture. Then we can help you. No kitty pic, no info. Sorry, it's the rules.

You might want to check with the rescue you adopted from as most adopted kittens come vaccinated and flea & worm treated already.

Otherwise, ask your vet but basically the kitten vaccinations are two vaccinations 3-4 weeks apart to complete the course. Flea & deworming stuff is best to get from the vet's as well while she's a kitten because you need to dose by weight. Get her microchipped as well if she's going out later on.

Sorry! Been on MN a long time but this is my first foray into the Litter Tray, I'll try to do a photo Smile

She's been microshipped, when she was in for spaying.

I'll ask the vet for vaccinations when she's due her final post-op check.

She's gone a bit mad this morning, rushing around the house and scratching the sofaHmm

She's lovely.

She should have been vaccinated when she was in the rescue. I got Haribo from Cats Protection and he was micro chipped, deflead, wormed and had his first vaccinations. I took him for his second already paid for by CP but I will be taking him to be neutered when he is 4 months old.

He also zooms about a few times a day. He doesn't habitually scratch the sofa as he has a post but I'm sure he thinks his name is no! get down!
