Kittens everywhere - anyone feel like recommending a cordless vacuum?

Not, I hasten to add, to suck up the actual kittens, just the kitty litter and kitten food and shreds of cardboard that the little blighters are constantly scattering?

(We have 5 foster kittens plus mum with us at the moment, and mum disapproves strongly of the full-size vacuum, so I could do with something less scary.)

I did think you’ll need a huge machine to suck a kitten up. Try a eufy robo hoover. Love mine.

TailsoftheManyPaws · 18/09/2019 17:50

They look amazing, but I don't think the budget will stretch!

Can we see the kittens please? Smile

TailsoftheManyPaws · 18/09/2019 17:58

How could I forget?
Representative sample attached. I suspect at least one kitten nipped into both photos.

I do have towels and rugs down everywhere. They think this is great fun and scratch them up in order to scatter more cat litter, scraps of cardboard and kitten nuggets underneath.

It's surprising what kittens can shift when they put their minds to it.

Oh my goodness 😍😍😍

My cats loath the dyson. Scarper as soon as they see it. They don't mind the eufy robovac at all. They seem mildly entertained / nonchalant about it. I think it must be the pitch of the sound or something.

Between4and30character · 18/09/2019 18:57

I dont know about the cordless vaccum but I'll happily come and cuddle all the kittens and mum to keep them out of the way while you hoover Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/09/2019 19:03

Be honest , you don't really want a new vacuum, you just want to Stealth Boast kittens Grin

I have a Shark (corded but you can get cordless) our female cat just sits there Meh when I hoover round her

TailsoftheManyPaws · 18/09/2019 21:06

Rumbled!

(But I really could do with a better way to clear up cat litter than waiting for Kitten 1 to try to eat it, because he's a bit thick.)

They're adorable! ShockSmile

chemenger · 19/09/2019 08:06

I had two foster kittens who covered their room in litter, shredded newspaper, fluff and god knows what else twice a day so you have my sympathy. We have a cordless dyson and it is rubbish; the battery life is approximately six seconds and i would say it sucks, but the problem is that it doesn’t.

VicSynix · 19/09/2019 11:19

nothing to add on how to clean up, but MOAR kitten pics please! Are they all torties?

TailsoftheManyPaws · 19/09/2019 12:34

More pics, you say?

Their poor mum is somewhere underneath that lot.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/09/2019 13:36

Has the little one improved?.

Weedinosaurus · 19/09/2019 13:39

Almost got distracted by kittens and forgot why I was here...Shark cordless all the way. Totally changed my life...dont even think that’s an exaggeration.

TailsoftheManyPaws · 19/09/2019 14:09

Ah. No. Thanks for thinking of the little one, Fluffy, but she went downhill and we lost her (partly why I'm distracting myself with cordless vacs and kitten pics).

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 19/09/2019 14:15

You did your best for her.

What about an old style carpet sweeper? Light, not too noisy and easy to use.

TailsoftheManyPaws · 19/09/2019 14:22

That's not a bad idea! We have a secondhand shop nearby that does all sorts of odd things that my mum used to have.

Second the Ewbank suggestion. Argos does them for under £20. www.argos.co.uk/product/8550954
Or there’s the trusty rubber brush for £10.
