Could this be worms?

My 9 yo girl (who I've never wormed since she adopted me 3 years ago) is showing signs of being irritated around her hind leg. She'll kick it out then start biting/grooming around what I'd describe as her thigh. Her flea treatment is up to date and she's eating/playing fine, purring and seems otherwise fine. I've given her a worm tablet this evening but wonder could this be something else? Nothing visible in the area as best I can see.

Does she go outside? Why have you not used a worm treatment before? Have you checked for fleas?

I worm mine once a year despite them being indoor cats; you never know what you can pick up on your shoes & I spend a fair bit of time around other animals.

It could well be something else, but you can't eliminate it being worms if she hasn't been wormed in at least 3 years. Also, I'd check which flea treatment she's on as many of them no longer work as the fleas have become resistant to them.
