Night time behaviour

2 cats and one (male) has always been fairly annoying during the night, but recently us got worse. Fussing and meowing at the top of his voice.

He wakes us up for food between 3-4am regardless of how much is there or the last time he was fed. Have tried automatic feeder but he won’t rest until one of us gets up with him.

An hour later he starts again because he needs a wee, but won’t just go to his litter tray - he needs an escort! If we don’t accompany him to the kitchen he’ll find some of our clothing to wee on! (The only time he does this!)

We’re expecting first baby in January and I’m very relaxed about the cats and baby situation, but I think I’m going to lose patience with the cat waking me up all night too! His meowing is so loud he’ll probably wake baby too.

But, the cats really are part of our family and for 6 years have slept at the bottom of our bed. Do I kick them out of the bedroom now I’m preparation? Or does anyone have any tips to stop this behaviour? I also feel sorry for the good girl who we don’t hear a peep from all night!

I feel your pain. Not only do my kids keep me up but the cat does too. I have got a feliway plug in which helps a bit x
