Will my cat accept new kitten?

We’ve had kitten for 3 weeks. We took intros really slowly as cat was very jealous.
In the last few days, the kitten has been with us all for most of the day. The cat has been calmer ow that she sees a lot of the kitten, but she rarely relaxes. She’s constantly on guard in case the kitten is round the corner or higher up than her. The cat is hissing intermittently, in fact we were joking that she’d lost her voice from it so it now sounds like a kazoo. Funnily, she’s not that fussed about the kitten taking her food or about the attention we give the kitten. It seems to be more about territory.
Will she relax? I can’t imagine her ever snuggling with the kitten.

Give it time my cat hated our new kitten for about a month. We kept our bedroom a kitten free zone for him so he would feel comfortable. Kept the kitten in the kitchen at night. He’d hiss and bulk up when he saw him run up the stairs and hiss at the kitten at the bottom it was difficult. I would hold the kitten near him and slowly he’d get brave and have a sniff. Now they’re fine playing and hammering around the house like kids, he still gets cross with him now and then but it’s needed so the kittens know his place.

Give it time. They will be just fine.

Make sire the cat has somewhere to get up higher than anywhere the kitten can currently reach. If she is higher and can see him she will be able to relax and get used to him being there.

@Hecateh is absolutely right. Excellent advise.
