Worried about new kitten

New kitten has been with us 48 hours

The first 36 hours he seemed to settle in really well. Was playful, friendly, cuddly, ate, drank and used the litter tray for healthy looking poo x1 and a few wees.

This afternoon he has been sick just white foam (tiny amount) hasn’t really eaten anything but does go to his food bowl to sniff it a bit and has done 2x rooks that don’t look as healthy.

He has a vet appointment on Wednesday but I’m wondering if he needs to be seen sooner?

How old is he? Where did he come from? Has he had any treatments recently (flea/worm/vacs)?

If in doubt I would get him to the vet ASAP. Kittens can go downhill very quickly because their organs are so tiny. Hoping he is OK, OP.

He’s 10 weeks, from a family friend.
He’s had no treatments in the past few days.

He seems very well in himself. Running around, playing, climbing up things, mixed with naps

Could it be worms? Have you spotted anything white in his poo?

No all poos have been the same colour. 1st solid then runny and the last one has been very watery. But I did look closely to check and no sign of anything

Is he drinking? You need to be wary of dehydration if he's passing watery stools.

I would see if you can get him in at the vets tomorrow to be on the safe side.

If he's running around then it's fine to wait until your appointment tomorrow. I hope he'll soon be feeling better.

I meant on Wednesday. But of course if he seems to go downhill get him in as an emergency.

Are there any specific signs I should be looking out for if him going downhill?

Becoming lethargic is the main thing to watch for - not being alert or interested in anything when he is awake.

If you changed his food, that could well be the cause of a tummy upset.
