One or two kittens?

We already have one furry overlord who allows us to inhabit it's domain and graciously sleep in their bed. Whilst being lovingly adored and looked after by its 9 year old slave with assistance from slave number 2 me.

A friend of ours fosters kittens for a charity and has a litter of kittens in need of a home. We have been offered a kitten from the litter but I have been asked if I would consider having 2 kittens as the charity is having problems rehoming all the kittens as they have had a massive influx.

So one or two kittens? Even though we have a resident cat already

Two. They’ll hopefully play with each other rather than bothering the older cat. Although IME older cats are very tolerant of boisterous kittens, so don’t feel awful if having two is too much of a commitment with insurance costs etc.

Definitely two! (If finances allow)
They’ll tear around using their energy on each other. The overlord will join in as the urge takes, or beat them into submission when their ‘learn to cat’ lessons need reinforcement.

I’d go with two.
I made the mistake of getting only one kitten in this situation, and my older cat couldn’t bear being the focus of his attention 24/7 (he utterly adored her and constantly wanted to play, she utterly hated him and did not).
It became a real issue and never really settled down.
Sadly the kitten died aged 18 months from cardiomyopathy.
We later took on an older cat, same age as our other cat, with no problems.
I think had the kitten had someone else to play with, and not harassed older cat constantly, it would have been fine.
