Panting Kitten

Last year my lovely cat died aged 8 after being diagnosed with CM.

I now have a 6 month old Maine Coon. He has gone for his castration today. Over the last 2 weeks he has been panting like a dog after tearing around the house. He also sneezes a lot. I know these are symptoms of CM.

I did Google and lots of people say their kittens pant.

I asked the vet and he said it is abnormal and we need to review every 6 months as he cant hear anything.

Please tell me your kitten pants and is fine!

It is normal when they're playing and running at a high intensity. It shouldn't last very long after though.

It's only when he is chasing DD around the house and stops after a minute or less.

Panting after exercise is normal. Panting otherwise should be investigated. Our old maine coone died after a couple of days of panting. No cause was found but he seemed to go down hill and have a seizure/heart attack. Is the cat eating and drinking normally? If their active and healthy I wouldn't worry

Yep, eating and drinking, climing, jumping and wanting to play chase.

Has started pooing outside of the litter tray though.
