Cat food to put on weight?

My cat is 8 and has always been really skinny. The vet checks her annually and says its just the way she is. She eats felix pouches, 3 a day. Dh has been buying the special senior food, but somone told me that is specifically low calorie! Is there a food that is specifically high in calories?

Does she need to put on weight if she's healthy?

I would go for a high protein, good quality food. Something like Thrive, Blink, Bozita, Animonda Carny (complete foods), maybe supplemented occasionally with complementary foods like Encore fish options as a treat. Does she eat just the three pouches of wet food or dry as well? If dry, swap that for a grain free, high protein food as well.

You might need to experiment and introduce a new food slowly if she is used to just Felix.
