How to stop cat hunting 🤣

I realise cats hunt, it's their nature. I've had cats all my life and so has my mum, we've literally never known a cat like it. We have a tortie called Treacle, very sweet (rescue named her) she's a rescue, she was about three months when we got her, no idea of history. She's very independent, not a lap cat at all. She's now about a year old. Not kidding I get three presents a day, mice or fledglings at the moment, usually straight upstairs to my bedroom. What I do?! Except keep doors shut and keep rescuing her live toys from her....! She has lots of toys at home and a cat tower....

i think your plan of keeping doors shut is your best bet.

all those wobbly fledglings are just too tempting

Yes they are a bit tempting aren't they! Someone else suggested it's an age thing, so now I hoping she'll grow out of it soon!

Ours didn’t start bringing In anything till we got a cat flap. He then bought in three mice all of which were alive and he ran away from as he was scared and he has never done it again. He is ten. I think he can’t be bothered Grin

One of my boys is a complete nightmare - he's about 18 months. Hoping he'll grow out of it. Shame as he's such a lovely placid cat.
