Keeping cat in.

Dcat has had a ruptured abscess and is on house arrest, wearing a collar thing to stop him licking the wound.

He's a big Tom who loves hunting and keeps pitifully meowing at me, I feel so sorry for him.

We've bought some toys which he just looked at with disdain. How can I make this easier for him?

Do you mean a male cat or an unneutered Tom?

wheresmyhairytoe · 18/08/2019 19:53

Male cat, he's neutered.

I had he same issue. Poor kitty was incredibly bored and couldn't understand why the cat flap stopped working.

I bought new toys, brought out her old kitten toys and tunnels. She slept a lot more than usual and was generally miserable.

Cone came off and she has now fully recovered thankfully.

He's now vomiting 😭 so had to remove the collar.

I'm thinking it's a reaction to the tablets as he seems hungry but throws up when he's eaten.

Oh no - hope he’s okay now.

If it carried on give the vet a ring,

Have you tried one of those plug ins or sprays that keep cats calm? That may help him be less stressed about being inside.
When mine was stressed about very loud demolition work going on next door we kept her inside and I added a supplement to her food that was designed to keep her happy and relaxed. I can't remember what it was called but I got it at Pets at Home. It worked pretty well

Zylkene is the stuff you put in the food.

Had him back at the vets yesterday, he's intolerant to the antibiotics so we've stopped them. Had an anti sickness jab and got some paste to put in his food. He's eaten some roast chicken breasts and is much brighter today thank goodness.
