Cat high on painkillers

My poor old male tabby cat fell off a window ledge yesterday from the first floor. Took him to the vet where he was unusually impeccably vicious but nothing seemed to be wrong since he escaped and had to restrained several times under a towel. The vet did give him some opiates and anti inflammatory drugs - 12 hours later and cat is now affectionate to the point of weirdness! He’s normally super “love me” anyway but this morning he shinned up my leg with his claws to get my attention and is generally clinging on to me or lying on me and I cannot leave the house without cries (I have not left!).

Is my cat high? If he were a person, I’d assume he was a little mashed!

Possibly, or maybe he's just feeling a bit insecure after the shock of it all and wants reassurance. Either way, just enjoy it : )

It should wear off on 24hrs. I ended up with my cat in bed with me after vet jabs as she was seeing things on the walls that weren’t there and stuff! By tomorrow all should be well if it’s just been a reaction. But phone the vet if you’re worried.

Yep, she's stoned. She'll wake you up early for breakfast.

Bless him, he's stoned. I've seen stoned cats before now, they are gorgeous and really seem to be enjoying themselves.

My old boy high on ketamine was a sight to behold...
