Cod liver oil

My neighbour suggested giving my old girl cod liver oil to help prevent arthritis.

Does anyone do this? I've had a google and there does seem to be a cat version which is expensive... does anyone give their cats supplements?

I use Salmon oil for my pair. Seems to work very well.
