Farty cat

The cat has started farting, very smelly farts. We've wormed her (Dropcit), she doesn't usually hunt much but we've had an epidemic of flytipping household waste around the area. Could she be getting into something? It has been a bit better since the first dose of wormer but she's still doing the odd one. We're due to give her the next in around a week or 2. She's never done this before (she's four) and otherwise she's healthy with a good appetite. What could it be? Any ideas?

Droncit only does tapeworm. Cats also get roundworm and numerous other internal parasites. Something like Stronghold or Revolution is needed which does all internal parasites, ticks .fleas, and giardiasis, + ear mite. You still need Droncit for tapeworms though.
If it still farts you could use Perivale granules which they give to farty dogs like Pugs. Just a few in food...cats don't mind them even though they taste like vinegar.

What food are you using? One of ours was really smelly, clear a room smelly, on Iams but is much better since I swapped to Applaws.

My bad! It was Dronspot spot-on that does round and hookworms as we'd previously done for tapeys, it says needs vet's prescription for Stronghold so I guess we need to pay a visit to the vets to get that. At the moment food is Wilko's own plus Go-Cat and Sheba for wet food. I might try swapping out for Wiskas or other to see if that works as they might have changed the recipe. Looked up Peridale but everywhere seems to be out of stock at the moment. The cat seems healthy enough and hasn't lost condition and is pretty normal. She just isn't popular as the farts are very smelly. The farts have diminished somewhat with the Dronspot and she will need another dose in about a week so might see if that clears it, otherwise, she is due for her boosters soon so we could take her early and sort the worms (if she has them) possibly there. I need to see the vet about a rabies vac and passport as we are leaving UK next year so I suppose it will make sense to do all in one!

Update: She is definitely more farty after eating, swapping out the Go-Cat to see if that works!

Could be a trapped furball in her system thy may pass. That happened to me with my cat. I was excluding various foods on an effort to find out what was causing this unexpected flatulence, which was like seaweed farts my dog used to do, but couldn’t find out what was causing it. It stopped after four or five days. Presumably she threw up or pooped out the fur ball. Who knows! She’s eating the same diet as before and is fine.

Will this work for my DP do you think?

Wilkos own used to be famed for causing smelly pet farts. I don't know if it still is!
