Tomorrow we pick up our kitten. He is 9 weeks old. We've not have cats in nearly 4 years and I'm feeling nervous. I know it will be fine and we are a cat loving family I just can't quite put my finger on what is bothering me. Any tips for having a kitten, it's been a long time since we've had one?

Get 2!!! 9 weeks is quite young, they need a lot of play and are still learning to socialise.

Prepare for all of your furniture to be destroyed :)

Lots and lots of toys :)

Enjoy!

Come on OP you know the rules!

No kitten pics = no advice given 😂

Will post photo tonight. I've had plenty experience with kittens as 3 of my cat had litters. I was always happy to see them homed, with 3 children at home there will plenty of people to play with him. I just feel I've blocked all the bad bits 😂

So tiny! He looks like a hunter in the making the way he's stalking his toys.

He's fabulous. We got our kitten 9 weeks ago ( at 9 weeks) and it was a shock but so so so rewarding. Non stop play then they fall asleep mid play. Very shy for a few days and now is lie my little shadow

Toughmonkeys · 09/08/2019 21:21

Yes, he was hiding most of the night and as the day has gone on he has gotten braver and more playful and wanting petted. sooverthemill your kitten is gorgeous .

Aww he is sweet! He looks almost the same as our girl! Ours hasn't ruined any furniture, she has a 3 tier (fiance said only the best for our girl) scratching post which she uses very well. She also has a scratching box which she also uses. She is our only cat and she doesn't get lonely. We play with her whenever she wants to play and she has a rabbit sister whom she enjoys interacting with. We also have which I recommend is a hooded litter tray which was £12 from pets at home.

Aww he's so cute reminds me of mine he's coming up 11 weeks. This was him when I got him at 8 weeks.

toughmonkeys it so cute when you realise they are hunting you! For a while now we rescued only old and sick cats but decided we wanted a bit less heartbreak ( 2 elderly cats pets within 6 months) and I had totally forgotten how cute kittens are! Photo of the day she came

Nothing better than a new kitten thread, makes you feel all fuzzy!

My older children just came home today . One is a bit uncertain as his cat was killed by 2 male cats who started hanging around our area. My daughter thinks it's brilliant. He is settling in so well. Vets tomorrow.
