Cat insurance renewal quote

Hi All, hope someone can explain this for me. Had our kitten a year ago. Paid for the top level of cover. Was paying around 12 a month. During this year our kitty came into contact with lillies so this meant 4 days stay in hospital after which he was back to full health and has been fine ever since.

My question is the renewal has come through for £25, do I have to accept this as it's a lifetime policy or can I look for another quote. Is it normal for it to go up this much?

Did you have a new customer discount?

If you change now you will probably find there are exclusions on a new policy (I'm not sure what as I don't know how she was affected) so it's difficult to change once you have made a claim.

I'm glad she made a full recovery.

You can look for a new quote, as long as there are no chronic issues. I'm tied to Tesco because of heart disease.

Anything related to the lily incident would now be excluded if you changed, so most likely kidney conditions in particular and potentially other things depending on what's on the vet's notes.

It doesn't always make a difference if there's a chronic issue - Harry hurt his leg jumping down from the fence and when we switched insurers his leg was excluded for a period of time
