Flea treatment for 2 kitties

What's the best flea treatment for sisters? I'm not sure if they actively have fleas, but they have just started going out beyond the garden wall and I read somewhere that's because of the weather there's going to be a flea explosion!
Can I use drops if I've got 2 cats who like to groom each other?

Yes, using a spot-on treatment is fine for multicat homes, you just need to watch them for about an hour after applying it while it dries to make sure they don't immediately groom each other.

Vet prescribed flea treatments are the only ones that work, don't buy supermarket crap. They are useless at best, some are toxic. Advocate Stronghold, or Broadline from vet's is best. The only over the counter one that works is Advantage, you can only get that from Pets At Home and some online pet pharmacies.
