So a little black cat hanging around since Saturday, yesterday morning the cleaner let him in thinking he was our cat, DS fed him gave him water then put him out again.
Last night neighbour knocks asks if he's ours he keeps wandering into their house, today he's been in our house.
Neighbour put him on local lost pets, not much response and today we took him to the vets, no chip but he's neutered, and difficult to age but older than 7 due to lost teeth!
He's a lovely little cat, would love to keep him but my problem is my 13 year old, spoilt mummy's boy cat!
Today when he was in my cat was in my bed so just gently closed the door and let the little fella potter about downstairs - shall I keep doing that? Try and introduce them through a closed door?
I'm not trying to steal someone's cat but happy to look after him until he is claimed or not - left my details with the vet
Help?

William, the stray cat who adopted me, was neutered but not microchipped. It was so sad as someone must have wanted him once Sad

pink sparkly now I think back my Sam was the same, neutered but no chip, he was desperate to be in a family again, when I took him some food out he ignored the food but wanted strokes. He was so thin I could get a hand around his waist, but love and attention was what he craved. I could never understand why someone obviously booted him out, he was such a sweetheart, though perhaps a little intense, I still miss him sitting on the side of the bath watching me have my bath, and going to the loo without a companion isn't quite the same either.

So I went out earlier and he was in someone else's front garden, not sure ifI'm being played 😻

I'll put a note through their door tomorrow, they are quite new to the street so he might be checking out the hood - see where he can get a free dinner!

What happened?

NoMoreMarbles · 07/08/2019 19:04

He looks like my friends cat who is currently missing... you're not in Liverpool by any chance are you?

LizB62A · 07/08/2019 19:10

Have you taken him to a vets to get checked for a chip?

Also, it's better not to feed cats that aren't yours - one of mine is overweight due to someone else feeding her and my other cat has a kidney condition and needs special food so random cat food really wouldn't be good for him (and there are still people who insist on giving milk to cats....)

Brexissmexit · 07/08/2019 19:13

No not in Liverpool!

It hasn't really been resolved, no response from the people up the road but after a really big fight and a couple of stand offs with my cat in the front garden the little fella has moved back up the road again. I saw him with a bird this morning.

I'll keep my eye on him from a distance if he looks to be going downhill at all I'll knock on the door of the suspected owners house or give the cat rescue a call.

I'm really up for another cat but sadly it won't be this one! 🙁

Brexissmexit · 07/08/2019 19:13

Name change fail there! Meh!

ThePhoenixRises · 08/08/2019 00:40

MNHQ can adjust that if you report your own post.

It's ok not a problem - I just use the other one for grumpy Brexit posting!

So the other cat has worked out how to get in the upstairs windows by climbing on the extension and I found him on DS's bed this morning!

He looks worse than he looked last week. I contacted the local independent cat rescue this morning but haven't had a reply yet but had a walk up the street and knocked in some doors.

It doesn't seem to be anyone's cat but is being fed by at least 2 other households, one of which said they would be happy to have him but he doesn't seem to want to stay indoors. ☹️

So I guess I'll wait and see what the cat rescue people say.
