Newly adopted kittens

We welcomed our three adopted kittens a week ago & have noticed all of them have quite runny poo & have noticed a little red blood in one of theirs. Not sure if this is down to a change in food, if they're having enough or too little food. There's constant fresh water & dry food out. Anyone have any suggestions please?

Have they been to the vet, that would be my first port of call.

They need to be seen by a vet. No one on here can diagnose them from your OP - can you take them tomorrow?

They need a vet visit, possible worming and flea treatment. You should give the same food as before and transition gradually to something else

Definitely a vet visit for kittens. Kittens can get the runs quite easily but better to get proper vet advise.
Did you adopt them from a charity/rescue?

Ooh to add.... Any changes to food need to be done gradually.

Yes they've been with a cat rescue place then a foster carer over the past 10 weeks. They were born in our garden, we found them when they were about two weeks old. They've come flea & wormed treated/micro chipped, first set of vaccs was the weekend before they came to us last Tues, next ones due on the 13th Aug.

Are you feeding them the same food they were on? I kept my kittens on the same food for a week then transitioned them over a spoonful at a time all poos were fine.

The lady gave us a box of the pouches they were on plus a bag of dry food, both of which are done now so might explain the runny poo due to the change. I didn't think to gradually do it. Hopefully this will settle down but will keep an eye on it.

That’s probably why then, their wee tummies are very sensitive at that age, well at any age if your changing food over, you stagger it. Given that you know the probable cause I’d probably wait 48 hours to see if their poos firm up if not take them to the vet. Make sure you keep up to date with flea and worm treatment.

Well done on rescuing them, I have a 12 week old just now who was born in a garden.

Well done to you too, they only rehome them in pairs but we couldn't bear to separate them. Suppose it's all trial & error & them settling into their new home too.

I also have two year old rescues so my little boy isn’t alone, they are all getting on really well.
