We're just about to take him to the vet as he's lethargic and just not right. I'm so worried about him 😿

Sending lots of positive thoughts your and Harry's way ❤ I have a cat too, and know how much a part of the family they are. I know it's hard but try not to worry, I'm sure the vets will have him feeling better soon. I hope he and you are both OK x

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 30/07/2019 20:42

Thank you, they're such a worry when they are ill.

I think we've brought home a different cat - he's strolling round as if nothing was wrong and is currently eating his dinner. That's after we told the vet he's off his food! He's had an injection of Metacam as he's got a raised temperature and he was a bit tender around his back. If he's no better he's got to go back tomorrow but if he carries on like this I don't think we'll have to take him.

Glad to hear Harry has perked up. What a lot of worry these fluffy masters cause! Hope he carries on feeling better x

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 30/07/2019 21:12

He seems to be drinking more than usual so I'm keeping an eye on that but it could be because he hasn't had anything since this morning as he didn't get up. He's eaten and is prowling round so I'm not too worried but we'll just watch him.

Glad he's better. My CKD cat had normal bloods the other day, so the Fortakor and Ipakatine are working!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 30/07/2019 21:23

That's good news scaryteacher. Harry didn't have bloods done tonight but they'll do them tomorrow if he's no better. Apart from drinking more he seems to be back to normal (he does this every time I take him to the vets, I think he likes spending my money!) so we're going to see how he is tomorrow.

I'm hoping he's only thirsty because he's been asleep from this morning until 7pm. He's got no other signs of kidney problems so fingers crossed he'll be completely back to normal tomorrow.

Here's a picture I took at the weekend.

He's gorgeous.

Vinorosso74 · 30/07/2019 21:31

Please don't worry your humans Harry! Am pleased he's perked up. Hope he stays perkier. Maybe the warmer weather has got to him a bit (well until it cooled down and rained!)

Toddlerteaplease · 30/07/2019 22:04

Snorg sends her love to her gorgeous Harry and says to stop scaring your humans.

Guiltypleasures001 · 31/07/2019 01:56

Booboo sends purrs and love to Harry xx

sundaymorningblues · 31/07/2019 02:19

I don't know what's in that injection they give them but it's incredible stuff. I want some of it!

sweetkitty · 31/07/2019 08:48

Hope he’s on the mend and is just spending your money.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 31/07/2019 08:51

Well I left him resting after running around the living room like a proper Feral Errol! He's eaten all his breakfast and isn't drinking a lot this morning so I think he was probably thirsty after not drinking all day. Fingers crossed!

Oh no Pink (It's DC's mum, another name change!) Hope he's ok!

With the mad weather last week and then the temp drop and downpours maybe he has a bit of a fever or delayed dehydration or something. Last week I think all cats in the country were in a bit of a flop, Danger Cat was hardly eating or drinking, so I was leaving little pots of biscuits and tubs of water outside in the shade. Must be horrible to have a fur coat when it's 35 degrees out.

Hope he's feeling better!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 31/07/2019 09:57

I offered to shave Harry last week but DH didn't think it would be a good idea! During the hot weather he took to sleeping under the BBQ, but it's so low he has to drag himself out. I'm wondering if he managed to hurt himself somehow getting in or out - it's the sort of thing he would do!

How is DC? I hope he's staying out of trouble!

HeyMonkey · 31/07/2019 10:08

Shame we can't shave them, I bet they'd be much more comfortable in the summer!

DC is fine, he was mega grumpy last week, it was 38.5 degrees here! We went away weekend just gone and left him with a cat sitter popping in for the first time (as he usually goes to the cattery) and he was fine! He seemed really happy to see us, and happy to have not gone to cat jail. The lady was lovely and said he was a total sweetheart. So hopefully we can continue to use her when we go away!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 31/07/2019 11:43

Stay well Harry darling - and stop giving PinkSparkly grey hair!

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2019 15:09

There is NOTHING like a trip to the vet to perk you up. Glad he’s better.

AutumnIvy · 31/07/2019 18:48

Harry is gorgeous! Glad to hear that he seems to be feeling better, I hope it stays that way. They do like to worry us, don't they!

Vinorosso74 · 31/07/2019 21:51

Pleased he's ok today and long may it stay that way.

Triskaidekaphilia · 31/07/2019 23:01

One of mine had exactly the same issue- lethargic and sore around his back/back legs. Had an opiate injection (vet didn't want to give anti inflammatory until they could do blood tests, in case it was something toxic in his kidneys) so seemed spaced out for the rest of the evening and night, already much better the next day, and after 2 days of meloxaid he seemed completely cured!
