Neighbours foster nonstop crying

My lovely neighbour has fostered a cat who was found as a pregnant stray - professional cattery cared for her, kittens now homed, mum cat in said neighbours home for respite.

Neighbour works evenings. It's so hot all my windows are open. Last night and tonight I hear the cat miaowing over and over, crying, non stop.

Should I say something to my neighbour?

Do mother cats grieve for their kittens? The cattery found homes for them so I assume they were the right age to go

But the cat is so sad :( and my cat is rather confused.

I think mother cats only grieve for their kittens if they can smell their scent but cant find them? Read this somewhere.
