Blood where there shouldn't be....

Our rescue cat, approx 2yrs (deemed fit & healthy by Cat Protection last year), has been leaving quite a bit of blood in her stools. Sometimes when I'm back from work I've found drops of blood on the floor, about the size of 5p 😢 We've taken her to the vet, had a prescription diet but no change. Vet has no idea and suggested an endoscopy to have a look.

Anyone else had something similar in their cat or small dog? Could it just be piles? The only thing is is that for the size of the cat (small 3kg) it's probably too much blood to be piles?

Are you keeping up with deworming treatments?

@viccat, yes, we gave the vet a stool sample and it came back clear and normal.

I rehomed 2 sister cats a couple of months ago (had to return to breeder as it didnt work out) and one of them had blood in her stools but she also had a runny eye. She had a bacterial infection. Would this have been detected from the stool sample?

Sorry no idea where stool sample came from i misread.
