We are away on holiday this week. There is a house near our Airbnb which has lots of cats. Lots. We were here 2 years ago and 3 years ago and they have always had lots of cats each time we’ve been here. I guess the cats keep having kittens which grow and then they have kittens, and so on.
Anyway, we came prepared this time with a mini suitcase full of Dreamies and have bought Felix wet food since we’ve been here. The owner doesn’t seem to mind. The first evening I asked him if it was ok and he responded by going to fetch two more kittens and plonking them in the middle of the Dreamies scrum. At least two of the kittens are blind. The others have really bad looking eye infections.
DD comes with me to feed them and leaves each time in tears.
I had a nose in their garden this evening and they have bowls of water. There are just so many of them, I guess it’s every kitty for him/herself. Their little mews when they see me coming are pitiful.
We leave on Friday. There’s nothing else I can do. There’s no point to me posting this. I am just sad.
