Second kitten - what do I need?

I’m pretty much settled on getting a second kitten 💕 My BSH boy has a little buddy who lives across the road, but he’s moving away. He gets very needy when his pal isn’t around to play with, and he’s only just turned 3, so I think a new kitten is the way forward.

What I’m wondering is, do we need new everything - carrier, scratching post etc? Because the stuff we have is DCat’s and smells of him?

I’ll keep them separate at first and introduce them gradually. I don’t think I’ll bother with a cat bed this time - that was a waste of money!

You may want new stuff while you are keeping them separate for a while. But move the smelly stuff with the kitten to get used to his smell then swap them after a while so they know each others smell.

I’ve been to meet him tonight. The lady said bring our own carrier but maybe his own blanket then they can swap around.
I think I’ll get him his own litter tray.

I got a new kitten today and have bought a seperate litter tray and food bowls. I haven't bothered with a bed either just blankets. I have a scratching post/tree/hammock thing for cat no.1 which I assumed they would share but I haven't kept mine seperate.
