Back paw cut

Hi there

We've just come back from holidays and discovered our five month old kitten has hurt himself on the back paw behind the paw pad. It seems like he's grazed it quite badly behind the paw pad not the actual paw bad area itself. Our neighbours were feeding them and didn't notice any problems with him and to be honest neither did we until we spotted it just now and we got home this time yesterday. It doesn't look infected, he's eating fine and in good form but would we be as wise bringing him to the vet to get it checked? We always had cats growing up but I've never actually had to make these decisions before. Any advise welcome.

I would, a quick look over won’t hurt and if it’s going septic it’s cheaper to treat now.

Thank you. My gut is saying get it checked, I'd feel awful if I was assuming it was ok and then he got worse.
