I wonder if anyone can help please.

Dear cat is nearly 11. Half bsh/half moggy. Always been a very social animal.

He has an arthritic hip and takes metacam and has regular checks. Much perkier since diagnosis 4/5 months ago.

However, there is a problem. For the last 10/12 months he has started scratching and biting my legs as soon as I sit down, especially at the dining table. He is very persistent and does this only to me. Not to any other family members.

Can anyone advise please?

Love his expression! It's priceless! You talking about me Mum? Sorry I don't have any "cat whisperer" tips, but he's gorgeous ❤️

Gingerkittykat · 10/06/2019 23:41

Is he doing it in a vicious way ie hissing and angry or a playful way?

He is gorgeous even if he is a handful.

No hissing or real aggression. He never used to do it. It's unpleasant.

Mine used to bite and scratch me quite a bit. He only targeted me.

In his case I think it was somehow connected to the fact that I was the person who was responsible for feeding him. When my DDs decided that they wanted to feed him too, the attacks stopped. Confused

He also finds it harder to resist bare legs and feet. Wearing skirts or shorts would massively increase the risk of attack.

Do any of those triggers seem likely for your cat?

A bit but I'm not the only one who feeds x
