Wound on cat

My 8mo kitten was (I think) stung by a bee/wasp at the beginning of the week on his back. He’s had a lump on his back that has been going down in size all week and at no point seemed to cause him any pain so I haven’t taken him to the vet.

I wake up this morning and he’s stripped about a square inch of fur off around it and it’s now an open wound. I kept him in today hoping he’d leave it alone but I’ve just checked him and he’s now licking it constantly and hissing at me if I go near him.

I’ve spoke to the vet who is going to see him in the morning and doesn’t seem overly concerned. Is there anything I can do between now and then to make him more comfortable?

I’ve never had a cat before and I hate seeing him hurt and unhappy.

Could you fashion some sort of baby gro outfit to keep him away from it?

I did try to get a Build a Bear outfit on him (just a plain t shirt type one) and he nearly had my arm off!

It*

He’s such a drama queen, he keeps walking past the mirror and crying at it.. He thinks that wearing a babygro means that his back legs are made of jelly and keeps collapsing in a fit of dramatics.

It’s his colour though. Poor love.

I am a bad person as I am laughing at your poor cat in that baby vest.

FartMachine · 09/06/2019 22:33

I’ve been given some antiseptic spray to put on it. It looks so much better today, to the point that I felt really daft taking him to the vet about it.

moonpiggle · 09/06/2019 22:36

😂😂 bless him

Toddlerteaplease · 09/06/2019 22:59

Sorry but that picture has made me laugh out loud. Poor boy. It suits him! Hope he heals quickly.

His eyes in the second picture say it all 😂😂😂
