We have a well loved cat. She is quite sociable and likes company. There is often no one in the house during the day and she has quite a habit of visiting local shops. (We live down he road from a small parade). She always comes home for her tea and generally sleeps on my bed.
We went away over the BH weekend, left the cat at home with an automatic feeder (this is usual). Came home Monday afternoon, cat not at home straightaway but returned early evening. She spent the evening snoozing on the sofa, lots of fuss from me and kids, all normal. On Tuesday, I went to work as usual.
The cat doesn't seem to have come home since.
I know she's ok as I've been in contact with a couple of places she tends to visit during the day and they've seen her as normal. But now (evening) is the time she's generally always at home and no cat.
She's quite pretty and confident (too much so really) and may well have charmed herself into another household. The kids and I miss her. I hope she hasn't jettisoned us.
Not sure what I'm hoping to gain by posting tbh, any reassuring stories about cats that wander then return would be fab.
