D cat went to the vet today, due to what might be wrong weve been told to keep him inside, issue being he's not used a litter tray in 12 years....how the heck do we get him back on it?
Thanks

I would just litter train in the same way you did when he was a little. Show him where it is, and lift him into it very so often. He might catch on pretty quick!!

We didnt have to train as a kitten, he was from a rescue and already knew what to do!!

Aw sorry then - useless advice😻.

Has he gone since you brought him home?

Fill it with some earth from the garden, and see if he'll use that, then put some of the earth in with litter so there is a familiar smell (I mean smell to him!)?

Surely you’ve had a tray just in case? Cats should be in at night.
Can you enclose him when you’re not about in a room with a hard floor and the tray?
