Indoor to outdoor

We're soon to move home and it means my 2 10yo kitties, who have always been indoors (due to living next to a busy main road), can go out into a secure garden. Does anyone have any experience of this and any positive stories to share? I'm ridiculously excited for them finally being able to spend many more years enjoying a garden! :)

No advice but my 2 rescues are allowed out next week, they've never been out before & I'm nervous!
Can't get them to keep a collar on so am scared of what presents they might bring me!

There should be no problems with them getting used to the outdoors. Of course a cat flap would make life much easier for all of you.

As with any move you will need to keep the cats in for at least three weeks after moving house, so they get used to the new place. Then ideally introduce them to the cat flap. Often the easiest way to do this is to take the flap off and leave it as just a hole for a while, then put the flap on.

Oh, and don't put collars on them - they're dangerous.
