Anyone else get the guilts at cattery drop off?

Sitting here feeling very guilty that we've just dropped The Boss of the House off at his lovely cattery where he'll be safe, warm, fussed and fed fish. Can't stop thinking about his little face and floofy belly and expecting to hear his little miaow.

I should rush back there now and rescue him right? Or is it just me who gets the guilts?!

Photo of said helpless little creature included of course.

aww he is gorgeous. i get the guilts every time (every. single. time) but when i go and pick her up at the end of her stay, she doesn't want to leave! Hmm Grin

YesItsMeIDontCare · 24/05/2019 18:48

We leave our overlord with his "Auntie". She comes round twice a day, spends an hour or more with him, takes him for his walk, gives him his medication, provides far more treats than he normally gets...

... and I still feel like an evil piece of shit. 😂

Oh don't! We're dropping ours off tomorrow. Apparently he was pretty laid back when he stayed last year. We're trying to get him used to all of cattery/catsitter/ neighbour popping in while he's younger.

GarthFunkel · 24/05/2019 19:04

Every time. And the cattery is always full of other, very beautiful and very talkative cats begging to go home. Our girl cat was quiet as a mouse until she went for the first time - had never meowed. On the ride home after her first visit she was nagging away at top volume.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2019 19:17

Yep, feel awful and dh nags me to ring every morning to make sure he’s ok.

Get shouted at all the way home by the cat.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 24/05/2019 19:20

Ours does FB updates with photos Blush

ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2019 19:21

Yes, and at intervals throughout my holiday Sad.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/05/2019 20:34

There is a cattery that takes Asbo?

Toddlerteaplease · 24/05/2019 22:17

I really miss them but don't feel too guilty as they get spoilt rotten and one if the staff just adores Snorg.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/05/2019 22:21

Mine does Facebook photos as well. This one put my mind at rest!!! They have written reports of what they've done with them.

Asbo is a good boy.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/05/2019 10:19

Of course he is!

GimmieTheCoffeeAndNooneDies · 25/05/2019 15:43

Yes, it was gut wrenching. He cried all the way there, tried to refuse to leave when we collected him, cried all the way home, then spent the rest of the day following us around and shouting.

Next day back to normal and mainly ignoring us unless he wanted something.

Dippypippy1980 · 25/05/2019 21:21

One goes in a few weeks. She’s only one and up until now if we go away may parents look after her in our house. She gets totally spoiled and runs to the window when she hears their car😂

But family holiday so no one to cat sit. Taking her own (ridiculously expensive) food, her own blankets and her own bed. Toying with her idea of taking the water fountain.

Feel like cruella deville.

Dippypippy1980 · 25/05/2019 21:21

The Facebook photos worry me. What if they stop half way through he holiday😂

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 26/05/2019 06:59

My DH actually cried at one cattery drop off (I was mortified) so now I have to do them!

PeoniesareKing · 26/05/2019 07:18

You mean Puss Prison?
I have awful guilt but then I think our fluffy boy has such a lovely time the other 50 weeks of the year.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/05/2019 07:47

I managed to look at mine before he realised I was there once, he was on a tree stump calmly watching the horses being groomed. As soon as I clicked my tongue at him I got loud wailing miaows and shouting.

I imagine the Siamese next door was happy to see him go after that racket.

mollpop · 26/05/2019 23:01

I hate leaving my cat in the cattery. But the lady who runs the cattery is lovely and I know she will be looked after. Please don't feel guilty. You are making sure she is well looked after x
