Hello all,
Does anyone have experience of vet prescribed anti anxiety meds for their Furry Overlords?
PanicCat1 has always been a right worrier - a true sweetie but just gets in a flap at the smallest thing and as she gets older has started getting worried about going out/getting aggressive with the (completely cat-safe) PanicDC/inappropriate soiling etc. We’ve looked at behavioural & environmental changes and nothing flags up just a gradual decline over time.
Vet has put her on Gabapentin but she is not exhibiting any symptoms WHATSOEVER of pain - beautiful coat, bright shiny eyes, able to jump up 6 foot fences for fun, not out of fear etc and I’m a bit concerned that we are just sedating/giving her cognitive issues rather than treating the anxiety itself? She’s bright as a button and playful and I don’t want to take that away from her at 15.
Do any of yours take anything different?
