First time here have had much loved 13 year old cat put down I'm in bits as she had kidney failure and I had not noticed how much wait she had lost and how ill she was until it was to late feel awful as I'm with her all the time I just didn't see how much she had changed other family members kept saying she looked so skinny is she ok just thought it was old age as she still eating and drinking cuddled her with my son as they put her to sleep she adored him he got straight on the train from London as soon as I told him so he could be with her just walked away from work as a lawyer begging me to wait until he was there feel like I let her down so badly been so busy lately anyone else felt like this and been so bloody useless

Don't feel bad, cats are very good at hiding when they are ill or in pain and weight loss isn't as noticeable when you see a cat (or even a person!) every day, people who only see them occasionally often notice first. You definitely didn't let her down, I'm sure you gave her a lovely life.

I've got an appointment at 5:0pm today to have my 15 year old boy PTS, he's got cancer and although I have been crying all day already, I know it is for the best.
