Kitten chirruping and wriggling around

About a month ago, this tiny little kitten appeared in my utility room. She had crept up in the space between the floor and the kitchen units. All my other cats do this.

Anyway, I fed her, took her to the vet the next day and she was not chipped, full of worms and fleas and conjunctivitis, poor little scrap.

She's all fine now.

But she makes a lot of chirruping noises. Constantly. And will wriggle and writhe around on the floor or the rug.

What's that about? I've never seen that in a cat.

She's only about 14 weeks old now the vet said.

She'll be spayed next week. I hope she's not already pregnant!

The rules of the Litter Tray state that nobody can answer your question until you've posted a picture!

It is possible she's gone into season - it's surprising how young a cat can be when this happens. Make sure you keep her inside until she's been spayed and has recovered.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/05/2019 21:06

Rub the base of the tail, if her back legs paddle she’s in heat. If she was pg they can still spay, kittens at such a young age wouldn’t be good for her.

Your remarkably calm about finding a stray kitten in the house.

Can't possibly answer without seeing her....

Cobblersandhogwash · 09/05/2019 21:50

Uh oh. Her back legs do paddle. Right. She's inside now until the op.

Photos here of her bullying one of our dogs! And being regal on a cushion.

She has tripled in size since she cropped up. It was so strange the way she appeared. This tiny little black kitten. We have no neighbours. She must have roamed and seen our cats nipping in and out of the house. Heartbreaking.

I couldn't exactly chuck her out into the night! She's a member of the family now.

She keeps trying to cuddle up to our cats. They just hiss at her. Poor little girl. Our dogs are friendlier!

Could be a very early season. Our little girl cat had a season before we could get her spayed and she did the rolling and writing around. We called her Jessica rabbit until she went back to normal 😂

Either way keep her in until she has had the op!

Congrats on your gorgeous new addition!

So a kitten just appeared in your house?

Why does this never happen to me?

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/05/2019 21:58

I would have done the same, she’s a beautiful little girl. If she’s tame I wonder if she’s an unwanted pet?.

Free cat, what’s not to love?.

Cobblersandhogwash · 09/05/2019 22:01

She'll be chipped too. She was in a right state when she popped up. Starving. She hoofed down two big portions of cat food. She's now on kitten food and thriving.

She's extremely affectionate and also shy. She has to come to you.

Any tips on integrating her with my existing three cats? They're lovely but they just hiss at her.

Have you tried swapping their beds around? That's what the rescue advised when we got our kitten. It gets them used to each other's smells without having the confrontation of them all in the same room.

agnurse · 09/05/2019 22:40

She sweet little girl!

It will probably take time for her and the other cats to get used to each other. I would suggest giving it time.
