new cat tips

I picked up our new cat today. He is lovely and friendly. He has spent most of the time exploring and has also sat on my lap and next to me purring and being fussed. He has eaten and is very greedy. I intend feeding him twice a day. He had one pouch and some biscuits and is still hanging around his bowls! We will be keeping him in obviously for a few weeks. Any tips welcome especially around feeding. He is a big cat (4 year old male) but was getting fed two pouches a day at the rescue.

Have put some dry food down now to try and calm his hunger! He is very bold - I went to make my lunch and he was up on his back legs peering up to see whether anything was on offer. He has also prowled round the house behind all the furniture getting covered in cobwebs (exposing my lack of cleaning behind the furniture).

Cats often take a few days to settle in to a new living environment, and they will frequently explore the entire space (including all nooks and crannies) as they do so.

My Froggie who I had before my marriage used to have a thing for hiding in cupboards Grin

A proper little house panther! 😍

I agree! We boast a mini-lion, mini-panther (tuxedo), and mini-bobcat. (Gatsby is a tabby but when he puts his ears back he resembles a little bobcat.)
