Cat that doesn’t play?

I think it is just because he is 11. He doesn’t play anymore. He sleeps more. Doesn’t go as far and wide as he used to. Just because he is getting older right?

Anyone else’s cat do less the older they got?

Yes. Ours are 15 and never really play with anything, or chase insects the way they used to. They sleep ALL the time.

My cat has never played much. She is 8. She is lazy...very very lazy! Parents cat was always very playful right up to her old age. She died at 14.

My Froggie didn't play much. Neither does our Biggie. (Unless he finds string. Then he assumes it is his.)

Snorg and Fatty never played as they were abused. Sniff will wrestle with toys but has no idea what to do with a teaser toy at all. Cheddar as lived in her former home and does play.

Get a vet check this can be an early sign of arthritis which is massively under diagnosed in cats.

I think he just getting old.

They were breeding queens in a kitten farm. They didn't even have names. Hopefully the 3 years Fatty had with me made up for it. And cheddar's influence has made Snorg blossom!

Toddler. That’s so so sad.

Mine is 3 but doesn't play with wand toys v much now, played all the time when a kitten. I think it's due to being a hunting cat and these toys just don't match the real thing.
When bored will play with a mechanical mouse or his catnip banana, but kinda halfhearted.
Really likes the foot under the duvet best.
