Can I change 18 month olds’ names?

My husband appears to have reserved two 18 month old sisters today at the cats protection place.

Disclaimer: I am not a cat expert...

Can I change their names or will they not know I’m taking to them....?! Confused

If you're getting Lucy as well, be warned that it is probably short for Lucifer...
