Cashew nuts from the kitchen!
I've looked them up and they don't appear to be harmful to cats but it seems really weird..she was really enjoying them.
Anyone else's cat do that?! (I have hidden them now as they can't be very good for her!)

I caught one of mine eating a pancake. It had been in a packet in a freezer bag on the table but had been clawed open and nibbled.

We caught my DSis's cat eating the chocolate buttercream icing off the chocolate log one Christmas Day.

And my DBro's cats used to like lemon drizzle cake.

Cheddar will stela's any can get her paws on. It's a good job she can't jump
Onto the units or nothing would be safe. She's also taught Snorg to steal.

Meal times in my house.

Ernie pinched some mushy peas I was about to put in the freezer.

He now has a small plate with fish and peas when we go to the chippy

Cats at a table where humans are eating is utterly vomit inducing.

Minkies11 · 28/04/2019 21:32

Mine steal ham - can't turn your back on them if you're making a sandwich. And they will try and get into the dishwasher to lick the mayonnaise off the spoon Blush

dementedpixie · 28/04/2019 21:33

Oh dear. Mine like to sit on the table to look out the window. We do put them off the table when we are eating

agnurse · 28/04/2019 21:57

Ours don't really steal but that's because we don't leave food where they can get it.

Prissy, the cat we had when I was a child, once licked out some butter tarts that Mum had made. (She left the raisins and pastry behind!) She also liked peas. My brother, who hated them, used to feed her his at supper.

Lady Jane, my parents' current cat, has eaten spinach before.

Jayda once wheedled salsa off my kid - and she ate it!

Most meal times in our house have the Bengal sitting 6 inches away from dh waiting for his cut.

Back in happier days when I had a furry visitor I simply stopped using the table because it was claimed as a bed.

Daft animal was actually scared of human food, but that didn't stop the begging. Then when a morsel was offed there was a mew of fear and a gallop to the door.

DH is the favoured slave at mealtimes eh?

JenniferJareau · 29/04/2019 12:33

Mine don't tend to steal but one is very nosey and will sniff and look at any food available.

HelloJackieYouLookNice · 29/04/2019 20:21

Mine has just helped herself to my raita Grin

HelloJackieYouLookNice · 29/04/2019 20:25

I feel that I should add that this very same cat refuses to even contemplate eating the vast majority of brands of wet cat food she is offered Hmm

SecretWitch · 29/04/2019 20:29

My ginger cat, Bella, loves a taste of cheddar.

We only eat if there is a cat at the table...

AintNobodyHereButUsReindeer · 30/04/2019 15:32

My DHs aunts cat will do anything to get her paws on packets of crisps! She'll open the packet and then eat the entire contents Grin Aunt was mightily confused when they first got her, as aunt was sure she'd gotten out a packet of crisps for nephews packed lunch but they were nowhere to be seen when she came to put them in his bag Grin

AintNobodyHereButUsReindeer · 30/04/2019 15:33

My friends old cat was addicted to Cheese Strings. He sometimes went missing and whenever he did, they'd open a Cheese String, peel it and drape the strings all around the garden and he'd always appear within an hour at the most!

It looks as if Cheddar is saying, "Where is mine?" I suspect that Snorg is watching Cheddar to see what's good today!

ithinkmycatistryingtokillme · 30/04/2019 20:21

I left a couple of crumpets defrosting on the side, came back to find one of them had been very carefully nibbled all the edge!

SagelyNodding · 30/04/2019 20:26

My old lady cat used to steal strawberries and drink the kids' apple juice... Now she sometimes harasses us for yoghurt, but otherwise is very polite and doesn't scrounge!

Toddlerteaplease · 01/05/2019 17:28

@SecretWitch Cheddar requires me to to tell you that she is not available to be eaten.

SecretWitch · 01/05/2019 18:07

@Toddlerteaplease, Bella understands and wishes it to be known that other felines are friends not food!

Toddlerteaplease · 01/05/2019 18:20

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

agnurse · 01/05/2019 18:30

@ToddlerTeaPlease

Yes, please don't let anyone eat Cheddar! She is a very sweet little girl!
