Cat missing for over a week

Not really sure what I'm after from posting, perhaps some success stories to give me some hope? One of our cats has been missing for over a week now, we've been out countless times looking over a wide area, looked in nearby empty gardens and houses, asked people to look in sheds and garages and posted on local Facebook pages but no success yet. We're so worried about her, and her poor brother really isn't himself. Has anybody lost a cat for this length of time and had a good outcome? Sad

Oh - I'd be frantic!!
Bumping for you
Hope they come home soon Thanks

Have you contacted local vets? Animal shelters? I read a post earlier about owners who had gone out night after night shouting and their cat managed to get back to them. Have you been calling them whilst you have been out looking?
I hope they turn up soon.

Thanks for the replies. I've contacted local vets and animal charities, and we've been out looking and calling for her whilst rattling biscuits but still no sign. Sad

I once had a cat who went missing for three weeks. I got home from work one day and he came in through the cat flap a few minutes later. Apart from being hungry he was absolutely fine.

I hope your cat comes home. Don’t give up hope

Wow @mollpop that's amazing, it's good to hear that they can find their way back even after so long!

We had a cat that went missing for 4 weeks! We did the same as you - searched the neighbourhood, leafleted the area asking people to check sheds etc but no sign. We were in the process of moving house too so it was especially worrying! In the end she turned up in the middle of the night just a week before moving day! She had a very husky meow and was really skinny but apart from that she was fine! She'd obviously been locked in somewhere. Hope your cat reappears in a similar way very soon!

Thankyou for the replies - she turned up 12 days later Grin

So pleased, cats do do this! My friends cat moved out the day they brought home their dd, 8 months later turned up home (obviously new lodgings weren't good enough)!

Oh that is such a relief!! So glad for you!
