Can you all please recommend me some good clumping litter. Need it to be around £5 even just a small bag will do and I can buy more later in the week. I'm trying and failing with different brands, I bought a couple when I first got her and one was great but can't remember what it was. I used Bob Martin stuff and it could have been that but not 100% sure if it was.

I've read Sainsbury's ultra clumping litter is supposed to be reall good if anyone has experience of that?

I use tescos own brand clumping litter and never had any problems with it, thinks its about 4.20

TiredTodayZzzz · 20/04/2019 07:59

Thank you, does it clump into a solid ball?

The most recent ones I've tried have been Aldi & Lidl but they don't seem to clump properly. When I go to scoop the pee it breaks up and ends up spreading through all the litter.

Cats best OKO plus is great IMO, it's more expensive than the usual ones but lasts ages , clumps great and doesn't smell, only issue is it tracks a fair a bit around the tray

I use Waitrose cat litter microgranules 5litre which is £4 or Tesco Premium Ultra Clumping Cat Litter 5L for £4.20.

Both are the best I have found on the market.

Sainsbury's normal clumping litter is excellent. Been using it for years - it clumps and doesn't smell.

TiredTodayZzzz · 20/04/2019 09:47

Cats Best OKO is what I plan to buy next week when I've got money! Seems to be highly recommended by read there's a lot of tracking?

There's no Waitrose near me so will try Tesco or Sainsbury's today.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried loads before I settled on that one, it does last ages I promise! It doesn't stick to the bottom of the tray like clay like some of the other clumping ones, I have 6 cats and a bag lasts me a month, there's a lot of sellers on eBay selling it so I just look for the cheapest, the texture is like small porridge oats and it clumps in big almost jelly like balls so you can just pick them out with a scoop or bag

I use cats best too. Oko plus is now called original, it’s a different formulation & not as good as it used to be - turns to sawdust much faster - but still good on smells & easy to scrape off edges (one of mine always wees against the back wall)

Cheapest place is zooplus IME. The 40L bag is very heavy though!

Also I have these mats in front of covered trays - they don’t catch all of it, could do with being a bit bigger, but they do reduce tracking a lot.

I use pet supermarket.com and they have some great little, I think it’s called Kokobo it’s silicon litter and has no odor!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/04/2019 10:33

Sainsbury's is definitely the best I've tried, although at the moment we're using P@H Ultra Clumping. It's as good, but only comes in big bags I think.

TiredTodayZzzz · 20/04/2019 12:04

Thanks everyone really appreciate all the advice. I will get a mat and Cats Best OKO when I've got more money. Definitely going to try Tesco and Sainsbury's today thank you.

Weve gone off cats best it has a funny smell to-it. They are liking this one now. Lasts about a month.i got it from Ocado but zooplus do it. My cat sitter swears by sinsburys own brand clumping.

Worlds Best for us - it comes in a green bag for households with 1-2 cats and a red bag for more than 2... We have tried others but always gone back to Worlds Best - its not cheap mind but seems to be the one we've settled on.

TiredTodayZzzz · 20/04/2019 16:14

Thanks again! I went for Tesco ultra clumping so will see how it goes. Wish I'd just gone for Sainsbury's as it seems to be the most recommended.
