Sureflap cat flap - the clicking unlocking noise...

We've just spent a fortune on the microchip Sureflap catflap, plus getting it put in glazed doors - so when our 2 cats go near it, it makes a unlocking clicking sound.
One of our cats isn't phased by it - she'll use it to come inside, but has yet to use it going out. The other cat FREAKS OUT when it clicks, and she's the more outdoorsy cat, but she seems petrified of it.

Has anyone else had their cats afraid of the Sureflap, but come around to actually using it? Is it just a matter of time thing?

Ours were the same at first and now they use it fine 👍🏻

It took weeks before one of mine would use it. We used to bribe them through with dreamies. For a while I had it held open with tape too

I disabled the microchip facility on my cat flap. My cat is feisty and very dominant - no other cat would dare come through the flap into Madam’s domain, so there was no need!
She zooms through it in either direction, so would probably hit her nose if she had to wait for it to release the lock.
