First time taking my cat to the vets today. Luckily he just came back.

I have been putting treats in his box for the last two weeks so he goes in fine.

First time ever he will be vaccinated. I want to get him checked over as he will be 11 this year.

Fingers crossed I can get him back in the box at the vets!!!!!

Hello,
Try to to worry he will feel your anxiety but I know it’s easier said than done.
I’m a veterinary nurse and can tell you that 95% of the time they go back in their box no problem at all when at the vets. I hope his trip to the vets goes as stress free as possible.
I know how it is my cats hate going in the car !!

Thanks. I hope he doesn’t react to the vaccination. He has never had them before. Just hope I’m doing the right thing.

Again most of the time they don’t really react to the vaccines and are more insterwated in what’s going on around them. It’s not very often we have a cat react badly when being vaccinated.

Some cats hate the box and some do not mind it. (When we brought Biggie home in a cardboard carrier from the shelter he actually fell asleep in there.) Sometimes putting the cat in back end first is helpful.

My Froggie, who I had before I was married, HATED the carrier. It got to a point where I had to bring it out the last thing before we had to leave, and once I got her in there she would sit there and glare at me Grin

Mine hop back in their box as soon as the vet has finished with them. £150 for a post op consultation at a vet hospital, Maia hopped straight back in her basket and the vet didn't see her.

I've since got top entry boxes as I was sick of having to take the whole thing apart to get them out at the vets
