What do you brush your cat with?

What's the best cat brush out there? We've had our cat for 6 years but this year his fur is getting everywhere. He isn't really a lap cat so we're having to take advantage of every time he's close to brush him but it never seems to be enough.

Is the Furminator worth the £10? We use what I think is called a soft slicker brush and can easily brush and empty it 10 times before he gets up and walks away, I think that if I continued to brush it'd never end! Because he gets fed up of being brushed and walks off I want to get the most hair off him in the shortest time. Any recommendations for a good brush?

He's a domestic short hair, a very large domestic short hair (not fat, just a really big cat).

Zoom groom for ours. It's brilliant and they really like it.

Your cat resembles a little kitty doll in this pic! SO adorable!

He does get lots of people stopping to stroke him because he’s so cute Smile

My shorthair grooms herself. I’ve never needed to brush her. My previous cat (also a shorthair) needed help when he got dementia and forgot how to groom his fur or strop his claws, but he was 21 at the time.
