How does your cart wake you up?

Mine jumps on the bed between 4:30 and 5 am and sticks her whiskers up my nose. Or rubs her wet nose on my lips. Anyone else have a cat who does this?

Mine sits on my bedside cabinet (which is quite high) and knocks things off, aiming for my head.

Got a glass of water over me once, she was proud of that one.

My water now goes on the floor at night.

There was also a brief period where he would pull out my hair bobble each morning Hmm

He likes to walk over DHs face, he often wakes with a paw in his mouth.

DCat pushes her wet nose into my nose for some time. Then she starts batting my mouth with her paw to make me talk. Finally the piece de resistance, which never fails - a nip to my nose!

Alternatively, I wake up to see this face peering down at me with massive green eyes, as she lies on my chest!

Spoke too soon about Snorg not waking me. Now it's warm and sunny she's found her voice again. She woke me up this morning by quacking loudly. V unusual for her. Though she quacks rather then miaows.

Mine sleeps on me anyway but wakes me up by shoving her cold nose into my face. Or by finding any scrap of plastic she can and chewing it loudly. I've had to decant all the food into boxes now because she chews holes in the bags.

Mine has done everything - yowling next to the bed, walking all over me, patting my face, sitting on my head, batting things off the bedside table and even licking my eyelids - he seems to go through phases as to which is his preferred method. His current favourite is sneaking up onto the bed then rubbing his wet nose on my face whilst purring like a tractor. If I roll over or turn my face to the other side he just follows and does the same thing again! I’ve got to hand it to him, as a technique to get me to wake up and feed him it certainly works!!!

My darling boy jumps onto my pillow, wraps himself round my head and purrs loudly in my ear. He has broken two glasses this week with his antics on the kitchen countertops too. Just as well I love him to bits!

Babdoc · 12/04/2019 09:59

Mine is incredibly civilised. If I’m not awake when she fancies breakfast, she goes out and kills her own. Then curls up quietly on my bed until I wake up. She leaves the heads, tails and feet on the kitchen tiles, after I complained about bloodstains on the hall carpet. (And used pungent carpet shampoo on them while she watched!)
If she’s not hungry too early, we have breakfast together. She likes to sit up beside me and lap her water bowl on the table while I eat my porridge. (Her food and a few Dreamies are on the floor.)
She’s a rescue cat, and an Olympic standard vermin killer, but an utter sweetie and loved to bits!

Much beloved tabby cat used to wake us up in Simon's cat style.

When she died, we overslept as we had relied on her as an alarm clock

PregnantSea · 13/04/2019 12:32

Mine starts scratching at our expensive curtains next to the bed. She would never dare do this at any other time, she just knows that it gets me out of bed to stop her because I don't want her to ruin them.

SabineUndine · 13/04/2019 21:35

He kisses me on the mouth if I don't move away fast enough.

Yuck. Yuckyuckyuck.

Gottalovesummer · 14/04/2019 10:07

pregnantsea what a clever kitty!

Sparklingbrook · 14/04/2019 10:09

Walking about all over my pillow and head while yowing as loud as she can. Sad

junecat · 16/04/2019 16:59

Mine starts off purring and rubbing his face on me, then he knocks everything off the bedside cabinet and drags the plant off. If that doesn't get him instant breakfast he nips me which definitely works!

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 17/04/2019 18:01

4.55 am.

She stands on my arm (I sleep on my side).

Little nose in my ear. Then

MEOW!!!!!!!

Autumnchill · 17/04/2019 18:14

My elderly cat makes the loudest meow throughout the night constantly waking us up. We've resorted to tuna before bed (protein makes them sleepy apparently), radio 4, light on, tap on drip (she's obsessed with it) and finally puppy pads 😩

She's settled down a bit but it's like having a baby in the house.

theSnuffster · 19/04/2019 22:01

One meows really loudly, scratches the furniture, runs full speed up and down the stairs, and jumps at the window which makes the blinds clatter.

The other bites my feet through the duvet.
