Blood in litter tray

Hi, we have two beautiful cats and have noticed for the last couple of days blood in the litter tray. Vet appointments have been made for both but we've been keeping an eye out to try and figure out which one it is and just now managed to see who it is.

Its bright red blood and at first we noticed a drop of it in the tray but now looks like there's less of it and is on the surface of the stool

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience of this? Obviously very worrying and just want to know whether it likely to be something easily sorted.

Hi - I’ve come across this. It can be stress or diet so just keep a record of when it happens and maybe take a photo (gross I know) to show the vet.

Hi gegs73, thanks for the information. We did used to feed her on Wainwrights but when we got our other cat it was too rich for him and it was near impossible to stop him eating her food because she eats slowly so he'd give himself an upset stomach with it. We changed them both back to Whiskers but its been a few months now and there'd been no issues with her being on that previously. I do think she is more annoyed by her little brother but there's been no major changes to her behaviour. We do luckily have photos to show the vet but wouldn't have thought to take them to show her so thanks for that!
