Swollen cat paw

Swollen cat paw. What could it be and what should I do.

He is happy and eating purring away just his usual self.

He has a vet appointment tomorrow morning.

In-growing claw/ something stuck in it and infected/ infected wound without anything stuck inside

... probably. I'm sure the vet will be able to sort him out.
