Scaredy cat and building work

I have two cats, one of who is very timid and has been known to poop in the house when she’s too scared to go outside (wind, rain other cats on the prowl etc)

We’re planning an extension in the summer which will mean builders in and out, lots of noise and potentially taking up space where she normally poops.

Has anyone else had building work done with a nervous kitty and how did you help them cope? I have Feliway diffusers already, but I’m not convinced they do much tbh.

Oh and I got rid of indoor litter trays as she didn’t use them, just curled one out right next to the tray every time!!!

No suggestion but I’m in the same boat. I’m dreading the building work because I think our lovely boy is going to be stressed out and distraught. How long are you expecting your extension to take to build?

Not sure. It’s a loft extension by a specific loft specialist so I’m hoping as they’ve done loads of them it will all go smoothly and be done in a couple of months max. I thought about doing a garage conversion first so the cats could move out there for a while but funnily enough DP wasn’t on board with that idea!

Zylkene capsules may help a bit, they helped with mine who were terrified of almost everything when I got them.

Thanks Allergic, I’ll have a look for them.
