Harry and next door's dog

Next door have got a little yappy dog. When they go out they shut it outside and it barks, whines and howls constantly. This means Harry won't go out and is spending all his time indoors trying to stay out of the way and, because we can hear it indoors, he doesn't always eat his meals when it goes down and gets out of his routine. Don't forget this is Harry and he's a creature of habit!

Any ideas what I can do for him (Harry, not the dog!)?

Complain to the neighbours about the noise? Not mentioning which family member it’s disturbing the most Grin

I've already mentioned it and they apologised but say the have to do it as it chews. I didn't mention it was upsetting Harry though!

Grrr. ‘He chews’ is not a reason to leave a dog outside, upset. I have no suggestions but I don’t like your neighbours.

Poor Harry. I can't stand happy little dogs. It would drive me nuts!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/03/2019 10:39

I do feel sorry for him but it's bloody annoying! It's not so bad for me as I'm at work but DH and Harry are suffering. They are looking to move so hopefully they'll be gone before we want the doors and windows open.

Don't they realise Harry is an old boy who should be enjoying his old age without being hassled by a yappy creature?!

Poor Harry. Is it possible to move his food bowls to another room and drown out the yapping noise with the radio or tv, so he can at least eat his meals in peace?

We live in a maisonette the dog can be heard from every room. The room furthest away is the bedroom but there isn't any space.

Apparently DH played him Clubland Classics yesterday while he ate!

Snorg says he can come and live either. There are no dogs anywhere.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/03/2019 16:45

Harry waves hi to the lovely Snorg and says he's on his way!

He did request a picture as he hasn't seen one of Snorg for a while.
