How much Ava to feed kittens?

I can find advise on how much to feed if only doing wet food or only doing dry food but what about if they're on both? I'm very confused!

I just fed as much as he wanted, I figured they grow quickly and play loads so they need calories.

Only had one turn out to be a complete piglet in adult hood.

My kittens were far hungrier and needed more than feeding recommendations. You could start by feeding two thirds the recommended amount of wet and a third of the dry recommendation. If they eat it all, give them more as they need lots of energy for growing and playing

I've always fed as much as they want before they are neutered, they are growing so quickly.

I just left dry food out and gave wet food a few times a day. I never weigh the food tbh

How old are they? Kittens definitely need more food than adult cats of the same size! Have they been neutered yet?

I still leave dry food out and feed wet a couple of times a day and mine are now 2. They aren't greedy and will leave food and come back and forth to it during the day

I feed mine one pouch/small can in the evening and leave dry food out all day. I think my bag of dry food said to feed Xg of dry plus one 85g pouch a day. I do measure out pots of their daily food allowance to make it easy for myself but I'm not strict about what they get and just top up as necessary. I've had a fat greedy cat in th past so I will keep an eye on these two to make sure they don't head the same way.

One pouch each, not betweenthem.

@SoupDragon how do you tell if they're heading the same way?

We've started to do wet food once a day and dry food we put out 2-3 times a day. There is never anything left and they're always still acting like they're starving though.

How much are you giving each time? They are having too much if they put on too much weight. Look up the body condition score for cats as it details what they should look like.

At 3 months old I'd free feed tbh (leave dry out and give wet at set times). You can always reassess if they start looking podgy

how do you tell if they're heading the same way?

Size!

At the moment, they're looking good. One is bigger than the other and does seem to eat more than his brother so I will keep an eye on him (although from experience it's difficult to limit the food of just one cat!). They are still young at the moment though.
