I can't believe it's happening again :-(

Last year my beautiful ginger cat had his teeth done and it was discovered he had kidney failure and we had to have him PTS soon afterwards following a hideous final few weeks. He was 12. Shortly before Christmas his brother started dribbling. Had some teeth removed and they discovered he had cancer in his mouth. They thought he might have a couple of years as it's slow growung. He's still dribbling badly and can't clean himself so we're doing it for him. He's being such a good boy when we do it. He's lost so much weight although i think we've managed to turn that round now. There's been the odd spot of blood in his saliva but today it's suddenly turned into neat blood and quite a lot of it. He seems happy enough but I think tomorrow we may have to let him go. I'm so sad and can't help blaming the vets which I know is stupid. But I just can't bear it.

That’s awful, it’s no ones fault though. It’s terrible luck and none of you deserve it at all.

I would let him go, he doesn’t sound in good shape at all.

That's horrendous, poor you.
However there is no way of really knowing how fast the cancer grows and other areas it may be affecting. He doesn't sound in good shape and the kindest thing may be indeed to let him go.

Thank you.

Well he woke up this morning and was as right as rain Hmm

We had tried to call the vet late last night but the nearest referral vet was quite a long way and I didn't want to drag him so far.

Typically, we're unavoidably away over the weekend (grown up niece coming to stay to look after him) but will see the vet next week and see what they say. I do realise "two years" is never going to happen though but I had hoped he might have made it until the summer so he could have a few more days basking on the garden chairs in the sun...
